The TouchBar is (mostly) dead: Despite being announced with great fanfare in 2016, the TouchBar, a slim secondary touchscreen that sits above the keyboard, is now only available on one model, the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro, which retains its dated design, despite having Apple’s latest chip. The regular Air was always a fine travel companion, but frankly newer, lighter laptop designs have been more travel-friendly. For example, I’ve had an excellent time taking the tiny Surface Laptop Go 2 around with me, even on a cross-country flight.
Of course, the ultimate travel laptop, at least for me, was the late 12-inch MacBook, sadly discontinued before it could find its audience. The carrier is hoping that the upgrades to its network will continue to keep customers tied to its services. During the second quarter, it said that it added 813,000 net postpaid subscribers. Postpaid users, Best fibre Optic Cable Company or those who pay their phone bill at the end of the month, are a metric used by the industry as an indicator of a wireless carrier’s success. A guest network is also ideal for your IoT devices, such as Wi-Fi cameras, thermostats and smart speakers — devices that may not hold a lot of sensitive information and are perhaps more easily hackable than a smarter device such as a computer or phone.
It’s fairly simple to create and maintain a secure home Wi-Fi network. Below, you’ll find 10 tips for securing your network. Some are more effective than others at keeping hackers and freeloaders at bay, but all are useful in their own way. Keep in mind that nothing can guarantee absolute security from hacking attempts, but these tips will definitely make it harder for anyone to compromise your network and data.
On the broadband front, AT&T Fiber added 316,000 subscribers. The carrier added 289,000 subscribers last quarter and touts that this is the 10th straight quarter adding more than 200,000 net subscribers. As with its efforts on 5G, the carrier has been working to improve its fiber network and has begun upgrading its network to offer multigigabit connections. In head-to-head testing against both the still-available M1 version and the recently released 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, its performance falls in the middle, and while it gets a nice power bump over the 2020 M1 Air, it’s not significant enough that I would upgrade just for that. Your router login credentials are separate from your Wi-Fi network name and password.
If you aren’t sure what the default is, you should be able to find it on the bottom of the router. Or, if it’s been changed from the default somewhere along the way, again, here’s how to access your router settings to update the username and password. And that’s exactly what this system is: The 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro, with the initial M1 chip swapped out for the new M2 chip. That makes it Apple’s most powerful 13-inch laptop, and it edges out the otherwise similar new M2 MacBook Air because its active cooling allows it to run at higher temperatures. In addition to the C-band purchase, AT&T shelled out more than $9 billion to acquire additional 3.45GHz midband spectrum in a recent FCC auction.
That adds to its increasing cache of midband radio airwaves, which is coveted for its mix of wider coverage and higher speeds.
